What Neil Craigie doesn't like about Bank Tavern:
I stopped by the restaurant shortly after it opened. I ordered a pint of amber bitter, but the server never spoke a word to me - no hello, no thank you - which was really strange. The first mouthful didn't have much taste, but on the second sip, I noticed a strange flavor. After a closer smell and another taste, it seemed like the beer lines had just been cleaned but not properly flushed. I ended up leaving three-qua... View all feedback. I have been here a few times. A good real ale destination. On this visit a customer accused Ic and Flic of being Gordon the Gopher ...luckily the barman knew Flat Eric and put them straight.We had an excellent pint each of Great Corby Blonde. Getting a table is down to luck it's so popular you can struggle to get a table, once you do the food and service is good.

Great atmosphere, solid selection of ales. Had the salmon and vegetables cooked perfectly. Friendly staff, great service. Favorite pub in town so far.
A very nice olde world pub, good selection of beer steak n Stilton pie a joy to eat. Very busy tonight but no worse than the oddfellows or dog gun....
