Great lunch place. Went to lunch there with a friend and the food was great. Friend had the grilled chicken sandwich and I had the nachos. Total bill was less than 10 dollars! Service was perfect. Drinks were very strong. View all feedback.
The crawfish was fantastic! We initially went to a Cajun restaurant in McKinney, but the crawfish there was not good at all. After paying our bill, we left and headed straight to Dodie’s. The difference in taste and quality was remarkable!
Fantastic atmosphere in Allen! It's the only place in the suburbs where you can enjoy a DJ on weekends and actually get up and dance. The happy hour specials are excellent, with $5 food items that you won't find anywhere else. Overall, the service is great, and I'll definitely be returning!
The reviews may not be great, but my experience was enjoyable. I ordered the Charlie's tacos at the recommendation of my server, Amanda, who was very helpful. The food took a bit longer to arrive, which was my only downside. The staff was friendly and outgoing, the drinks were good, and my meal was tasty. I have no complaints!
I wish I could say that everything on the menu is fantastic, but honestly, I've found myself stuck in a bit of a routine. Every time I visit, I end up ordering the same two items: the Grilled Fish Tacos and an appetizer of onion rings. You better come hungry because their "fish tacos" are really more like Fish Fajitas. A generous filet of grilled fish (available either plain or blackened) arrives on a sizzling cast iron skillet, nestled on a bed of grilled onions and poblano peppers. On the side, you'll find red beans and rice, along with a plate brimming with pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and shredded lettuce. You can choose from three types of wraps: flour tortillas, corn tortillas, or crispy iceberg lettuce. For my appetizer, I always go for the onion rings. They are without a doubt the best in town—sweet onions perfectly deep-fried in a light cornmeal batter. The only downside is that the noise level inside can get quite high during peak hours, making it challenging to have a conversation with your dining companions. However, there's plenty of covered outdoor seating with industrial-sized fans to help keep things cool. They also have a private room available for small gatherings. Despite the noisy atmosphere, my husband and I keep returning weekly due to the outstanding quality and flavor of the fish tacos. Just a heads up: be sure to look for the fish tacos near the back of the menu, towards the bottom. You would think they'd put them right on the front page!
The Super Bowl was about to begin, and this restaurant was conveniently located nearby. While I wouldn't have picked it based on the menu alone, it turned out to be a great spot to watch the game. There were plenty of TVs, and the atmosphere was lively and loud. We ordered the wings, which were tasty, the red beans and rice (which I had to spice up with some hot sauce), and the fried brownie, which was delicious. The service was impressive, even during the busy game time.
