I had my first experience with Big Ray's BBQ in Allen, and I opted for takeout. I ordered the three-meat platter, selecting pulled pork, ham, and sausage, along with sides of okra and mashed potatoes. The peach cobbler was absolutely delicious!
The best bbq that I have had in Texas. Maybe not saying much since I have only been to 3 other bbq restaurants since moving here but all three of those were highly rated. I had the two meat Big Tex Sandwich with two sides. The man and woman behind thecounter were extremely friendly. I would go back just for the service but the sandwich was great. I had mac and cheese, andpotatoes and onions for sides. Good stuff!!
I am very disappointed with my recent order, which consisted of two fish and fries dinners. The fish was dry, and the fries were overcooked to the point of being burnt. When I reached out to the restaurant to share my concerns, they responded with sarcasm, asking if the meal was to my liking. This will definitely be our last order from them, and I’ll make sure to share this experience with all our friends. It’s frustrating to try to support small businesses when they make it so challenging.
Absolutely fantastic BBQ! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere had that classic BBQ joint vibe. The service was excellent as well. The brisket was perfect—just the right amount of seasoning without being overly salty or too crispy on the outside. Everything was spot on! It’s a bit off the beaten path, which made it a nice escape from the busy town center, providing us with a relaxing experience filled with great food and good times.
Delicious! Our group of eleven came together for a birthday dinner, and everything was exceptional! The staff was wonderful. We savored catfish baskets, chopped brisket sandwiches, a turkey sandwich, a three-meat plate, and a variety of sides. The portions were quite generous. Sadly, we were too full for dessert, but it looked amazing! Next time, we’ll be sure to save some room for it.
