From the start the welcome from Sofia added a touch of class to a great meal and along with her colleague Pedro the service made the evening memorable.Good recommendations on wine and food and the food is wonderful. Go before they get a Michelin .....Busy bright and interesting . The chefs here can really cook.. Great place which will have people booking for weeks ahead.

We ate here as a family of four on a busy Friday evening. Managed to get a walk up table (just before 8pm) but think if arriving after that then booking would be required. We thought the place looked nice, having seen it from the road, but were almost deterred by the negative reviews. I think there has been a refit and perhaps a change of management, but we very much liked it. Nice décor, very swift and attentive service and good quality food and drink. We thought the prices were reasonable (even with an awful Euro-Sterling exchange rate). Would definitely go again.

This is Aljezur, we have great Portuguese restaurants in the hills around here, serving authentic Portuguese food at Portuguese prices.This is a new restaurant and we love the other restaurant owned by the same people.The restaurant is spacious , nicely redecorated with a nice feel. Plenty of staff but not all gainfully employed. After our meal we waited 12 mins to be cleared with 4 staff stood behind us.Couvert was small and expensive. 4 tiny pieces of bread for 4 people, asked for a little more and when the bill came we were harged extra !Starters at around 8 euro are expensive.Food good but not served with many accompaniments.Lamb chops were lovely but they should be for the amount charged also the Migas served with them is not for me. Steaks were good but only a few chips and salsa accompanying them.All in all.Nice surroundings but pretensious food at expensive prices.Will stick to Gulli.

Having been to Gullies restaurant the other night we thought we would try Varzea as it is run by the same people but we were very disappointed.The service was well below standard, the menu was limited and the food, although presented very well, was at the best average.That is all I have to say.

Outstanding place. Refreshing main courses and unexpectedly original desserts. Welcoming waiters, constantly smiling and extremely polite. Loved the atmosphere and music. Definitely recommend!
