I visited this place in December and it was one of the few restaurants open in the town for lunch then. I was a bit hesitant at the beginning, but it was worth it in the end. I had the codfish with potato purée and a glass of wine. Big portion, very well cooked and tasty. The staff speaks English well and can help you with recommendations. Not very big menu, but everything there looked carefully selected and well prepared.
Amazing generous family food, quick service and very nice staff/owners. Had veal cutlet and lamb chops and the amazing Porto cake.
The restaurant looks a little tiered and is situated away from the river but for very good food at reasonable prices I would definitely recommend. The food is very traditional and full off flavour cooked by a competent chef . The wine was very good and 7euro for a litre excellent value and the staff were very friendly and helpful .
Ok, I gues... We ordered the only vegetarian dish, grilled vegetables and rice, quite plain, no particular taste. The second thing we tasted was codfish, a portuguese speciality. I've had great bacalhau in Portugal already. Unfortunately, this one was chewy and too salty. All the side dishes (rosemary puree, bread, olives... were nice. The whole situation was saved by very decent and cheap local wine. Overall, 15€ is too much for a dish that one can't chew. EDIT: I got a mild food poisoning, so I do not recommend the bacalhau at all.
Amazing dinner. Wonderful veal chops, grilled to perfection with potatoes and vegetables on the side. Good local wine selection. The Port wine cake was so delicious. Their house port has the most beautiful caramel long smooth finish. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €50+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
