What User doesn't like about Restaurante Pelourinho:
A very nice man suggested us the rypical dishes to order and a wonderful vinho tinto (red wine): a smoked sausage similar to raw ham as appetizer, pork and vegetable and a typical portuguese grilled sausage. Don't miss it! Ambiente informale, ma ottimo cibo e servizio eccellente. Il figlio della proprietariaci ha dato ottimi consigli per assaggiare il cibo locale: antipasto a base di una specie di salame affumicato s... View all feedback.

Restaurante muito acolhedor, espaço super agradável. Quanto à comida é excelente, fomos a vários restaurantes mas este sem dúvida destacou se pela qualidade. Foi também o melhor costeletão do Norte.
The food here is really good, it is a traditional cuisine with high quality products and properly cooked. Great value also.
Our Quinta host rang in advance to ask if they would be able to provide a vegetarian meal. Because being a vegetarian in Portugal is not so easy. They have lots of vegetables and delicious things but it seems very hard to get them without...speaking Portuguese. But not here. They provided a delicious and very filling vegetarian meal at very reasonable cost. The dessert was very good too, a caramel and biscuit pudding. It is a locals place and provides simple and tasty food. The house wine was lovely and also very reasonable in cost. The kind waitress spoke just a little English, but it was enough for us to communicate well, and she was warm and friendly on both visits which my partner and I appreciated.
We would never have walked in if not for the positive reviews because it looks very shabby from outside, but we had a great night. The cuisine can be described as comfort food, huge portions of simple but delicious local dishes, and very cheap too....If you still have any space left in your stomach, the desserts are simply wonderful. Avoid the house wine, which is tasteless as is often the case with homemade wine, but the bottles of red on the menu are excellent.
