Carmichaels Restaurant - Alice Springs

We really enjoyed our dinner at Carmichael's Restaurant. As a group we had platters of the various items on their menu. There was a Rocket and apple salad, Sweet potato, carrot and broccoli platter, a Crispy skin chicken pieces with fig purée dish, Barramundi pan roasted with macadamia nut crust, and a Mushroom & asparagus parmesan risotto with poached egg on top. There were also baked potatoes. All tasted fabulous, particularly the barramundi as well as the flavour of the risotto. Dessert was a platter of Roulade of Pavlova with hibiscus flower and strawberries slices, and a Cotton Candy Cheesecake with caramel sauce. Lovely, particularly the pav!I had to drop my Carmichael's rating to four stars as we had breakfast here and even though they're supposed to be opened at 6am, they kept the doors locked till about 6.10am and as such a bunch of ppl were kept waiting outside in the cold. We were keen to start our breakfast early as we had only a very short time for it before having to depart for a sunrise Kings Canyon Rim Walk.

After surviving the Mereenie Loop without a rental car disaster, the restaurant and wine selection was a pleasant surprise given the remote location. We enjoyed the kangaroo appetizers and main course selections. The service was timely.

This lovely restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner.Staff friendly and helpful, only two waiting staff with a lot of people to serve they did an amazing job!Starters and main course really good, desserts were a disaster, as for candy cane cheesecake it was a white blob with what looked like a toffee sauce but no biscuit crust!Disgusting!Shame really

Allergies were mixed to Resturant Chef got people allergies .up. I relieved my main thing my husband got his desert. My chicken was very dry. According to the boss, he might not have eaten it.
