Contribute FeedbackArowhon Pines Resort offers a beautiful rustic setting in Algonquin Provincial Park. While diners can bring their own wine and there is no corkage fee, the food quality doesn't always meet expectations. The restaurant features a buffet of appetizers and main courses, and a delicious dessert spread. The diverse menu includes French-inspired dishes, with special attention to food allergies. The attentive staff, beautiful surroundings, and historical ambiance make Arowhon a unique dining destination. Prices are on the higher side, but some diners may find the experience worthwhile.
We stayed at Arowhon Pines and ate at this restaurant 3 times each day. The food was varied, fresh, healthy and absolutely delicious. The salads - and you know how boring they can be - blew us away. (The butter tarts were the best my husband and I have ever had.). It is now our favourite restaurant, ever!
We first discovered Arowhon Pines Resort while canoeing on Little Joe Lake on a day trip, more than 20 years ago. We stopped in, walked around the grounds and were impressed by the rustic setting and the wood beam octagonal dinning room. We came back in 1997 for a 3 day honeymoon and have been back many times with family or friends for either lunch or dinner. This July, we celebrated an early 20th anniversary, combined with our elder daughter's July birthday, who is visiting all the way from Maui. The resort was built over two years in 1938 with locally obtained logs and has stood the test of time.My daughter was impressed by the menu selections ( as were we ) and the servers were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Being located in Algonquin Provincial Park, the resort has no liquor license, but all diners brought their own wine, etc. and there is no corkage fee.The appetizer and salad table had a good selection of items and the heritage tomatoes were mouth watering. The soup was a great cauliflower with pumpkin oil.Two of us had the bacon wrapped filet mignon with vegetables and the other meal was a smoked Canada goose breast. Leave room for the dessert table !!!!
We've only gone to Arowhon for dinners, but it's like going back in time. Beautiful resort a few miles off of highway 60. Meals and desert table are outstanding. Great service and ambiance. One of my favorites of all time.
We did not stay at Arowhon nut had dinner, it was excellent food. The only downside is that it is ea little bit expensive but I would say that the food is worth it. When we went they had a buffet with so many different things to pick from. Very nice location as well.
Excellent meals with wide variety and as good as you will find in Paris. Home made with mostly local foods. Expensive if you are going in just for a meal but if you want a special treat this would be the place. Bon appetit!
