You get a complimentary slice of cornbread and yellow cake with a simple sugar icing. The serving sizes are much larger than you think you will be getting which makes your meal very cost effective. The folks running the place were extremely helpful and patient with us as it was our first time there and navigating the menu can be a little difficult to understand based on just the pictures. Give this place a try and you will leave full and happy.
Great comfort and soul food . I had pork chops collard greens and red beans and rice. Tho food is spectacular!
Delicious food! courteous I love to eat food that is fresh and that is certainly the case here! So delicious !
Delicious, down home cooking! We had the red beans and rice, a vegetable platter, and a fried shrimp po boy and everything was fresh and good! The mashed potato's were especially good. All well seasoned, served piping hot, real cooking.
If you're looking for some delicious comfort and soul food, this is the place! This is a local, family owned business run by the sweetest people. You can order from the menu or choose from the daily plate lunch offerings (changes daily, served cafeteria style) such as smothered pork chops, baked chicken, beef stew, and, my favorite, chicken spaghetti. The meal comes with three sides, and the mac cheese is some of the best I've ever had. Each meal also includes a piece of cornbread and a piece of cake. They even have a drive thru now, so I can pick up yummy, home cooked food in the same time it would take to pick up fast food. This place is a CenLa treasure!
