At the time I went, it was Poke only. I loved the food, but it's important that you know what you're getting. It's not a choose your own adventure of toppings and sauces in a bowl of rice. It's a simple rice with a seaweed salad on top and a hearty portion of sauced/ seasoned raw fish on the side. I've never had poke from Hawaii, but I strongly suspect this is what it's like. What Keara Gadoury doesn't like about Momo Poke:
Having just moved back to the area from Hawaii, I was excited to discover a poke place close by. Unfortunately this place did not live up to the reviews and was honestly inedible. The fish was far from fresh and tasted like it had just been doused in Aloha soy sauce and tossed with some giant chunks of onion. I ended up tossing it in the garbage because it was disgusting. I wanted to love this place but will definite... View all feedback.
Had a great tale out dinner. HUGE portions! Great staff.Don't let the cluttered counter dissuade you from the food. Locomoco and teriyaki chicken are awesome!
I don’t like giving less than 5 stars but here is goes.Just came back from home in Oahu and I was still craving more loco moco so thought I give this spot a shot.It was definitely different. My egg had no yolk, the gravy was slightly odd, the rice was kinda mushy and the Mac salad was also different. Overall pretty good but not your traditional loco.Felt like I was in an unkos house when I went inside. The woman was friendly and unko was cooking behind the bar. Will make my own next time ?
Our first time there was an underwhelming experience. Thought we’d give them a second chance. This time was even worse. Loco Moco is the easiest dish to prepare but my hamburger patty was charred and the gravy was super salty. They also need a new rice cooker because it’s too wet and mushy. The Kalua pork was 90% cabbage and 10% pork. Service was also meh…the lady seemed disingenuous and had no aloha spirit. There will not be another visit from us.
We ordered catering for a birthday party and it was a hit! The kahlua pork cabbage, chicken teriyaki Mac salad were delicious. The owner was great in coordinating the catering and we will certainly be coming back. Highly recommend!
I have been here multiple times, never fails! I had the loco moco and it was ono (delicious)! for 3 people it came around 60-65 dollars. (added drinks) they have a military discount of 10% of each item, even drinks! this small business is run by a hawaiian employees are very friendly. 10/10 would recommend if your in the area.
