Really fun place for a weekend brunch. We came without a reservation on a Sunday morning. Said it would be 20 minutes, but had us seated in 6. Staff was friendly. Menu was diverse and had plenty of options, vegan gluten free etc. We sat out on the patio, which was closed and heated, and even on a cold day was very comfortable. What K doesn't like about Del Ray Cafe:
While the people working here are lovely, the food (breakfast at least) is very overpriced and underwhelming. The crabcake in the benedict was brown , the veggies were undercooked, the fruit was all the straight from the can (10000% not fresh at all). Beautiful spears and desserts that are so good, I could simply skip my (wonderful) meal.
Positiw: hostess was very helpful to raise party of a person. looked down on time. good selection of food for restaurant week. the staff was overwhelmed and almost choreographed in the service. most importantly, eating was as always stone-resistant. negatiw: employees are connected to talks. several times. please train the team to take a breath before they stop a sprint at the table and ask: “How is everything?!?” fyi: automatic 20% point on total and tax.
