We waited a total of 1.5 hours for our food, which was far from ideal. This establishment does not offer traditional table service; instead, you have to wait in line to place your order. The line nearly reached the door, with just one person taking orders, which made the experience frustrating. Once you order, they give you a number to place on your table. I won't be returning here, especially since waiting in line can be exhausting, particularly for elderly guests. The BBQ was mediocre, and the chopped pork sandwich was mushy. The steak fries were disappointing as well. The only positive aspect of our visit was the lady who delivered our food; she was the highlight of the experience. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere as below average. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

The restaurant has a down-to-earth atmosphere filled with vintage memorabilia that gives it the feel of an Americana history museum. The Country Fried Steak was huge and topped with a brown gravy, while the Brunswick stew was more vinegary than preferred. However, the service was slow with orders being confused and wrong. The food was subpar overall, with grey ribs and mushy pulled pork. Despite this, some customers had a delightful experience with seasoned and fried dishes, along with good service and generous portions. Overall, the restaurant had mixed reviews ranging from disappointing experiences to pleasant surprises.

Love big b and all their food! I love these cheese sticks and catfish! super friendly customer service.
Incredible lunch on this place today. I think the rest of alexander city agrees with me! the place was full today. I had the brisket sandwich and it was phenomenal. the people are so nice and the service is even better. I will be back in any case!
Don't waste your money. First, you walk in the door and there's nothing but an arrow telling you to walk around to the counter in the back.Second, the young girls taking the order kept confusing the order and mumbling. Third, it took forever to get our food and there were very few customers. When the food finally arrived the orders were entirely wrong so we had to wait again. I ordered half rack of ribs and I have to say I've never seen grey ribs before. Grey ribs taste exactly like you would think horrible. My husband ordered pulled pork. It was mush and totally disgusting. The fried green tomatoes weren't too bad but all you get is two small slices. Everything was subpar at best. We do not recommend eating here.
Stopped by this hidden gem on the way back from Camp ASCCA. The food was delightful! We ordered a blooming fried onion as an appetizer. For our entrees we had the chicken liver dinner seasoned and fried to perfection with Cole slaw and chili has beans, a hint of sweetness and the whole fried catfish fried green tomatoes and okra . To wash it all down we had sweet tea. The sweet tea was GREAT! All of the food was fried and seasoned well! The service was good and the wait was not long at all! I look forward to visiting here once a year.
I would leave 0 stars for this place if it was possible. Lake Martin Visitors Don't Waste Your Time Here I was initially excited to try a BBQ place that says they have been open since 1978. Well, I don't know how they will be open 78 more days based on what we were served last night. There were 6 in our party and we all ordered a variety of items from pork sandwich to ribs to turkey plate. If it wasn't cold it was just gross. To the point we just stopped eating and left. 70.00 down the drain but I assure you as a fellow Yelper.. Listen to me.. Keep driving! Literally, how can you screw up a pork sandwich and fries? They can! The ribs I promise you were coal black from being over cooked. My only regret is I did not get any photos of this mess. We come to the lake multiple times a year and this is a for sure NEVER AGAIN and we BBQ.

The ordering process involves going up to the counter to place your order, and you serve yourself your drink. The staff only brings out the food and asks for a tip afterward. I ordered a BBQ chicken sandwich with fries and beans. It took 20 minutes to arrive, and the service was quite slow. The beans tasted like they came from a can, lacking spice and served cold. The chicken was dry, but the fries were decent.
Quick and tasty BBQ just off the 280 freeway. There's ample parking and seating, making it easy to get in and out swiftly. They serve massive hamburgers, fantastic BBQ, and delightful side dishes. We especially love the honey-glazed wings. The prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is consistently clean. Plus, the staff is very attentive and friendly.
We got here at 6:00 PM waited until 7 TO ASK WHAT DRINK WE WANTED! Didn't get food until 8 and the wings were pink inside. Food is so mid it's disgusting. 0/10 don't recommend just go to chick fil an and save your time. ALSO This establishment caused me and my roommate to have explosive diarrhea for multiple hours after we ate. Me and my roommate sat on the crapper for the better part of an hour each. The toilet was traumatized from our explosions. I feel bad for anyone else who had this same fate. The demons were battled in the bathroom, and they were conquered. (until the morning when they returned)
I've been eating at this restaurant since I was a little girl. The food is amazing, I suggest you get the mild wings plate.
The Blooming Onion was good. The wings were delicious and large. The ordering is rushed and confusing especially if you've never been there before. I would go back for the wings, onion and to try other things on menu.
