Have been meaning to go for sometime and glad we finally went. An interesting and comfortable cafe. Staff in particlar gorgeous young Trinity was very heplful (maybe we reminded her of her grandparents! . The food was very tasty. We will be back. The menu was exciting, the food tasted nice, and the decor/fit out was very cool. However, the negatives of Fred Eatery are sticking with me. A little explanation of my experience: I wanted order the smashed avocado, but swap the eggs for roasted tomatoes. We have been dining at Fred’s for years, firmly a family favourite we enjoyed lunch today flavours were fresh and exquisite, staff absolutely gorgeous and atmosphere quirky and cute. We had a demanding little diner on our hands today who spotted the banana bowl, one of the owners kindly offered her one in addition to her kids meal above and beyond. Hands down the best restaurant in the Adelaide Hills (and up there with the best in SA! . Thank you Fred’s team, never change! X

Received no recognition of our presence by Barista on arrival. When our coffee order eventually taken they said they did not provide skim milk. I think to ignore a significant section of the market in favour of trendy alternative milks is arrogant. We walked out! Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Service: 1

I love this place! Family of 12 went there this morning for breakfast. The staff were so lovely, friendly and great service. The food was amazing. Thankyou! Everyone enjoyed their meal. Mine was so delicious. We will be back!
We have been regulars at Fred's since they opened.. The food is consistently amazing, and coffees are the best in adelaide hills!! The staff go out of their way to a accommodate your every dining whim! The owners are warm and charming hosts! Give it a try..... you have nothing to lose and everything to gain! P.s. Great food, great service, friendly staff, nice atmosphere would thoroughly recommend. Only downer , glass of wine a bit xxxxy , decided against and had a local cider instead, delicious...

I have eaten at Fred’s Eatery 3 times in the last year. It’s fabulous. I’ll return to try other menu items. Food is delicious, brunch and lunch items varied in choice, quite different, very healthy, some with Asian influence sauces tasty spices. I took five friends, we all loved our meals. The Malaysian chicken bang bang delightful, my friend said the squid was, as well. Lots of oohs and aahs expressed over flavours. Service girls were lovely to us, as was the owner. It can be a busy eatery, they have upstairs dining, too. We visited on a weekday, and could stay chatting over coffee and cake. A lovely time was had by all.
Food not that great, service was ok only took 15 mins for a coffee. then we where asked to leave as the table was booked for someone else, will never ever go there again. so if your thinking of going there DON'T
FRED came highly recommended, and did not disappoint. Great food, a good mix of breakfast comfort with little touches to elevate it above standard bacon and eggs. I had the zucchini fritter with eggplant labneh, avo, eggs and added some bacon, all was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic together. Cheerful, lowkey stylish ambience, even though they were very busy, the place never felt unpleasantly crowded when I was there at, presumably, very busy weekend timeslots (Sat and Sun brekky, around 10am), and food came out quickly too. Absolutely cannot fault FRED, and already planning a return visit as soon as possible!
Firstly have to say fantastic food and great service by the young staff. However the whole experience was ruined by the arrogant, rude and disrespectful behaviour of the owner/manager Aaron. He was rude to customers on more than one occasion during our meal and a number of customers commented on it. If you don't like serving customers Aaron then don't work in front of house! We will not return to Fred's.
Delicious and large variety of dishes to chose from got breaky and lunch. Great coffee and good selection of drinks. Friendly service and very nice comfy decor.

Fred's Eatery, Aldgate a country treasure, what a find! Went for lunch on Sunday with the family. We struggled to get a table, that says it all. Even though they were pumping the service was friendly and efficient it was spotlessly clean. We didn't have to wait long after ordering for our food to arrive. We had the salt pepper squidly diddly, sticky black chicken egg bacon rocket roll. The squid was perfectly cooked the sticky black chicken was lip smackingly good. The only negative was that they don't have skimmed milk for coffee, however the have a wide range of milk alternatives. Only 20mins drive up the hills from Adelaide.
