We heard the soft jazz music and saw an attractive raised patio with a posted menu that looked inviting… on our way back from a pleasant walk by the river, we stopped here for some lunch, and it was a real highlight of our day in Tavira!
What a wonderful experience! We went in for a quick bite, and ended up having a truly delicious meal. On top, the prices are really low for what it gets you!
This place was a real find! My friend and I stayed in Tavira for nine days and we loved this place so much we went for lunch there four times! A great menu and such lovely Portuguese wine. Our waitress, Vivianna (unsure of the spelling) was absolutely wonderful. She recommended several dishes such as the Fried Shrimp with Garlic and the Scrambed Eggs with Alheira , which is similar to chorizo sausage, but better! I also loved the bruschettas, and had the one with black olive pate and cured ham twice! The couvert of garlic butter, black olive paste and oil was also nice to nibble on whilst we waited for our main courses arriving. I had read in an earlier review about the little chocolate cup with cherry brandy, so had to have one of those for dessert! It 's a very small cup made entirely from chocolate with delicious cherry brandy inside. It 's a tiny little place but definitely worth going to. Highly recommended!
