I h... read more Alcobaca was our first stop heading north from Lisbon. We had a excellent Portuguese lunch there cooked perfectly. My wife had the Arroz Piexe and loved it. I have been wanting Sardines from Portugal since the last time I was there and they were in season. These hit the spot perfectly so I have to give this moderate restaurant a top rating. You can't go wrong here.

It had a vinegar taste, whereas it used to be cooked with a good wine and sweet onions which gave it a slightly sweet quality. Please use the original recipe or we may not return.
