The best meal we've had in Albuquerque. The trout almandine and french onion soup were unbeatable and truly authentic. Prices are fair for the quality and the setting is lovely. Service top notch. Plan your next special occasion for this cozy extraordinary little downtown gem.
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at le troquet. for appetizers she ordered the wobble soup and I ordered the calamari; she said the wobble soup was one of the best she ever tasted, and my calamari was mouth water in a delicious creamy sauce. for entrees she ordered the filet en croute and I ordered the trout amandine. her well-crusted filet was super delicate and tasty, with a surprising layer of pate that delivered an unexpected but well balanced taste. my trout amandins were perfectly cooked, but it was swimming in too much almond butter sauce, which was rich and velvety, but overwhelmingly the delicate taste of the fish; I just pulled my fish aside. the vegetables on both sides were perfectly cooked. for dessert we shared a profiteroles it was a sinful pleasure. the ambiente was very cozy and romantic, service was excellent, and the prices were appropriate for such high quality of the food. highly recommended, even if the tables are very close together.
A truly memorable experience and a hidden gem in downtown Albuquerque. It would be very easy to overlook this place. I think the ownership has done a great job keeping the exterior very understated. The inside is quaint and beautiful and the food is absolutely delicious. I got to attend a private party where a vendor at a conference it was attending rented the restaurant out. We got to try everything from the lovely potato leek soup to lamb chops and escargot. They also have a great selection of French lager beers. Highly recommended!
My first time in ABQ. Hotel was closed for food (Fantastic hotel though Hyatt Regency) they gave me a lost of 10 option. One was French. I cannot recommend it enough. The most amazing food I have tasted. Ashley offer the best front of house, whilst JP (Chef) works his magic in the kitchen. JP is a social chef also, walking the floor to say hello to guests. Who says customer service is dead ! ??
One of the best dinners I have eaten in Albuquerque. Great food and service. Small and very intimate dining room. Will be dining there again soon. Pricey but worth it.
