Chez Axel French Restaurant

It wasn't there for about 15 years. I thought it was a nice change. Reservations for 18:00 and we were the only ones there for the next hour and half. I guess they called the pianists because they had customers. The food was not very good except the French onion soup. No wine! I'd make you aware of staying away. The waiter was now help with suggestions and perhaps had a blow or ADHD.

An absolute hidden gem. The food was excellent. Bravo to the cook. I love the Eskargot. My beef bouraginne amazing.

I will admit it is a beautiful restaurant and the food sounded incredible, but unfortunately we were greeted by a server that seemed completely stoned and, the conversation with the cook on the back, so was the cook. We heard him literally? Kay I? Get her water? giggle 1,2,3 Cook laughs Netter Koch reacts. We didn't feel comfortable doing our food at the prices we saw. It was so disappointing.

The French Cuisine is exquisite, elegant and fabulous! The Tarragon Chicken just melts in your mouth and flavorful! French Beouf Bourguignon a' L'orange is delicious and the meat is so tender and rich with fresh orange flavor! The Spinach Salad was flavorful! The French Onion soup was rich in flavor and delicious! The atmosphere is beautiful with all the paintings and antiques! They have a beautiful piano for music! The service was exceptional! The Chef is fantastic and creative! I recommend it! We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and they even congratulated us!

Talk about a wonderful and authentic classic French lunch experience!!! We travel to France where a daughter and her family are permanently installed at least twice a year, spending at least 4 8 weeks each stay. Chez Axel is the perfect reincarnation of a French neighborhood restaurant with its simple, well prepared, classic French dishes that the French still enjoy on a regular basis. And yes, even the unpretentious decor and warm hospitality makes us feel right at home . The fresh spring pea soup and the French onion soup were spot on. My husband ate every morsel of his Chicken Provencal, mopping up his plate of every last trace with a piece of the classic Paris style baguette !!?in ABQ! . My brother and I thoroughly enjoyed our ham and spinach crepe made with the classic Paris style ham and plenty of freshly lightly cooked spinach. We also appreciated the absolute authenticity of the vegetables served lightly seasoned and nice and tender the way you 'd find them in France the French are not into crisp tender ... We were so happy, but wanted to be virtuous, so we split their signature chocolate mousse another perfect example of a chef 's personal take on a classic that you 'll experience at homey neighborhood restaurants in France. We have officially added Chez Axel to our very, very short list of restaurants we patronize almost weekly. We can 't to experience the dinner menu, as well!!!
