It is not that easy to find a normal restaurant in Guia where the Chicken Piri Piri is king. Ideal has a nice atmosphere. It 's local, rustic and among other traditional portuguese dishes, serve very good fish at a reasonable price. View all feedback.
What ba1751 doesn't like about Ideal:
Ideal has improved over the past few years but again seems to be letting itself down at lunchtime. The food remains excellent but having just had lunch, the service was poor. Not the fault of the waiter who was running himself off his feet, but that of the owner. There were probably 30 people in for lunch and just one waiter, impossible task. It is a good place to eat but the staff levels need to improve. View all feedback.
I've been here a couple of times for dinner and it's been great. They do smaller plates and I had pork ribs which were fab and tasty.
Probably the most established restaurant in Guia. Quite expensive for the high end fresh fish but also excellent quality. We had fresh sole (linguado) chips, mixed salad bread and a couple of drinks 60euro. But the quality was outstanding. Visited here many times over the last 25 years and the standard very seldom drops.

Prawn cocktail is the best there is in the area by prawn content. Chicken Piri piri does not disappoint. The chips are great and the salad is my favourite salad in Portugal something to do with the dressing! The only down side to the whole experience is the ladies toilets no lights in the basin area and overall needs serious updating.
Second night on the trot here since we arrived in Guia. Had swordfish both nights and can say it is the best tasting and cooked I have ever tasted. Thus far, the only place to eat for me, will return again soon.
