New visit for Sunday dinner in advance. eat quite average, meat nice but gravy like brown water and veggies massiw overcooked. bizarre thing was, it should be a... read more New visit for Sunday dinner in advance. eat quite average, meat nice but gravy like brown water and veggies massiw overcooked. bizarre thing was, it should be a karvery, but had to wait to be called individually to get food. very strange. the worst was the condition of the tiled floor in the restaurant, it was really terrible with unhygienic drills? holes and cracks. it looked so dirty and filthy and lets you get out of food. decoration was also drab and dull (burgundy with cheap paper table covers. all looked very tired and shady and uninviting. a shame. def will not take visitors or family there.

Sometimes it was a frit that simply does not do it for us. soggy chips and very watery mushy peas..disappointing! everything. when we go back to more and the waitress is a real gem.

After reading the Rave reviews about chapmans, we decided to make an hour trip to try their fish and chips on Friday afternoon. we were able to park outside the... read more After reading the Rave reviews about chapmans, we decided to make an hour trip to try their fish and chips on Friday afternoon. we were able to park outside the restaurant and take a table on the terrace. another couple. tasted full English breakfast and they looked delicious. good COVID protocols were present. service was friendly, attentive and efficient. we ordered cablejau and chips and scampi and chips. the portions were very generous. we found both our fish over boiled and dry, and the chips had the impression that they were fried in old oil, the taste was not good. overall we remained disappointed, not the standard we had expected to have read all previous reviews. Maybe we were unhappy on Friday, but I doubt we'd come back.
