we stopped here by chance. in a relaxed lunch my man enjoyed the fish with green beans and salat while I had served delicious hot quiche lorraine washed with a mixed salate with a chilled local white wine. was obstflon and mixed fertilizer. would recommend that everyone who likes well cooked fresh food. I also had a fun time to practice my French. View all feedback.
We arrived after 1.30pm on a Saturday afternoon and aparently received the last of the available meals, as others who arrived soon after us were informed that the kitchen was closing! However we were fortunate as the meals we selected from a rather small choice range, proved to be very enjoyable. The leek tart with salad was a delicate flavour in light pastry, accompanied by a generous, well dressed, mixed salad. The Cassoulet with Toulouse sausage was tasty though not exceptional. For dessert we both ordered Clafoutis (which was filled with apricots and blueberries) - generous portions and delicious. Espresso coffee was very good. Service was prompt, polite and friendly with sufficient English spoken. The toilet was clean and well appointed. Overall good value for money (tart + salad and dessert = €10.50), but don't leave lunch until late or you may miss out!
The restaurant is small and always busy because it has a simple but delicious menu complemented by excellent, friendly service. You will not find a better value lunch venue anywhere in Albi. As we are here for several months, this will become our lunch local.
I have lived close to Albi for years and have walked past this tiny place many times, thinking it was only a Salon de the. Today I was taken there for lunch, by a friend - what a lovely surprise !The room is absolutely minute with 25 covers in the closest proximity. This could irritate some people BUT it makes for a fun atmosphere - and the utterly delightful patron/chef is a glorious host who makes it seem as if we are all friends around his dining table. Everybody talked to everybody else in an assortment of languages !!!The food is all freshly cooked and is whatever is found in the market that morning. The place doubles in size in the summer months with tables outside - it will be interesting to see what the atmosphere is like then.Incredibly good value plat du jour and delicious puddings - you have to go for the whole experience !
Le Solelhou often have lasagna on the menu and everytime it is different and delicious. A great local restaurant.
This little restaurant has only a few places and the charming owner/ cooker makes everybody feel welcome. Very near St. Cecilia Cathedral it is eay to find and a very good lunch option. The 10 EUR menu: plat du jour + desert was fresh, plenty and very tasty.I definitely recommend it.
