Whenever we come to Albaida we repeat. The food is excellent (and I fall short) and the owner is a great professional, cook and person. The waitress is very nice. We will keep repeating. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Can't fault the place, good value, excellent wine and the owner/chef? So helpful, showed us the meat so we could select our own piece, one of us has quite precise taste in steak, he received five stars for the plate, lovely place and very caring staff.
An unusual restaurant in a fantastic setting with a different take on dining. First impressions of the restaurant are pretty impressive. A lovely old village house carefully transformed into a restaurant. The welcome was warm and the staff friendly. The concept behind the dining experience is there is no written menu to guide you. The chef comes to the table and basically tells you what he has on that day. Luckily we speak Spanish but we are not sure how non speakers would cope. There is no mention of price when the list of courses is fired at you. Some may find that a little off putting. The food itself is perfectly good but certainly nothing out of the ordinary. As a guide we were 2 and our bill came to just over €100 for 2 starters, 2 mains and a €20 bottle of good wine. We got the impression the bills have no structure and the owner pretty much makes it up as he goes along. Did we enjoy the meal enough to return, probably not. Are we glad we went yes.
Back in Spain again this year, we did a 90 minute drive to return to this gem of a restaurant in a quiet medieval town. Apprehensive that we might not be able to replicate a wonderful dining experience last year, we were not disappointed. The restaurant itself is lovely, comfortable, spotless, relaxed. The food outstanding. we were the only non Spanish people in the restaurant. So an authentic Spanish food experience. The owner asked about food preferences then builds the meal around that. No menus. We had a wonderful plate of grilled artichokes with duck liver, calamari, seafood, salad and potatoes with a delicious aioli, dessert, coffee, water, glass of white wine. Just an amazing meal. Not rushed. Perfectly prepared. A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon in Spain. And it's a beautiful drive through the countryside of orange groves and grapevines to get there. Definitely recommend a drive to Mos Y Glop. Call to make a reservation.
