Excellent service and excellent food. Drinks were also good (I got the Crimson Clover)! Would recommend the prix fixe dinner; I got it with the mixed greens salad, salmon, and banana cream pie ice cream. Everything was delicious! The only thing that I could complain about was that the steak was originally undercooked for my taste but they cooked it a bit longer upon request. View all feedback.
What Edward doesn't like about Kingfish Seafood:
Overall food was very good, esp main courses . Oysters we shared for appetizer didn’t have a ton of flavor though. Server seemed disinterested and not at all attentive. We had to ask for our 2nd round of drinks . Our reservation was for a party of 7, but we only ended up having 6 yet they still added on automatic 20% tip, and for which the server didn’t point out to us. We only caught it at last moment. Would still c... View all feedback.
It was very nice to go to a restaurant that also a vegetarian menu.. I had the BBQ carrots and harvest plates... both were fabulous... my husband had the royal crab legs and he said they were as good as we were in Alaska... very nice atmosphere and good service... we will definitely go back
Kingfish is one of the very best seafood places I have ever visited, and I was stationed in Hawaii and San Diego. The chef is innovative, creating delectable sauces and stunning presentations. Our host was Mark T, who knew everything about every item on the menu, and seemed to appear throughout the meal at just the right times. Kingfish is our new special occasion restaurant!
Unfortunately, this was our first time. Honestly, we would 've tried it much sooner if the sign didn 't look, well, fishy. The combination of the name, the sign and the restaurant hill location, which these days raises a red flag to most Akronites, sadly kept us away. We finally tried it b/c a friend said it was actually fine dining. Curiosity got the better of me, and boy am I glad it did! Fantastic service from start to finish (which sadly)we don 't find much in Akron these days. Each course was exquisite, probably the best damn martini (Belvedere) I 've ever had...crafted superbly. The bread fantastic. The manager stopped by our table to check on us after our entrees arrived...the temperature was perfect, the music was perfect, the decor and atmosphere fabulous! After our meal, I inquired w/the server, who owned the restaurant? Who the chef was, etc.? She explained it was the same group that owns The Blue Point in CLE, as well as other superb restaurants. My husband and I glanced at each other a knowing look...ahh, this explains everything! I wish they would 've just said so...! If that sign had read The BluePoint South (It 's South of CLE the cuisine has a bit of a Southern twist), We would 've been there the week it opened! I mentioned this to many friends and they muttered the same sentiments, they 'll be trying it now. My biggest regret is that we haven 't been dining here since it opened!!
Last night, my husband and another couple had a wonderful culinary experience at Kingfish. 3 of us enjoyed the Bluepoint oyster appetizer, and then for delicious dinner. I had the wild Pacific salmon with quinoa, snap bases, roasted paprika, honey lemon vinaiigrette. Jeffrey and Matt had the Shrimp Scallops Sauté with all w/green beans, potatoes lemon butter, and Dar enjoyed the Snapper Special. All were divine, served by Mark, who was exceptional, attentive and ready to make excellent suggestions for drinks, wine and dinner. The ambience is relaxed and comfortable, but elegant. Dress is 'business casual', but men can wear dressy shorts, no shortcuts or t-shirts. What a great evening.
Excellent food, attentive service, magnificent surroundings! The scalops were amazing and the lobster bisque was the best I had. Fine culinary experience with a slightly lower price than you expect.
