A specialized restaurant for the famous Akita Hinai-Jidori chicken. Nice cozy restaurant, with slightly dimly-lit groovy surroundings, and private fan-style seating areas. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Honke Abeya:
The English menu was incomplete with many items in the Japanese menu which we don’t understand missing. We ordered the chicken pot priced above 2000 yen, stated there serving enough for 2-3 pax. In the end the serving was just enough for 1 pax. The yakitori was also expensive. It’s strictly overpriced for the quality and serving size. View all feedback.

Meal: Lunch Budget: ¥2.000/Person Next station: Akita Booking required?: No payment: cash and credit card Child-friendly?: Maybe not English Menu?: No The famous Akita Chicken is well represented here! We enjoyed our lunch sets that were a bit expensive at ¥2,000/person, but it is worth it in our view. The interior of the restaurant is also beautifully decorated and spacious. We give four stars instead of five because the service does not compare with the price of food. Our server seemed uninterested and didn't make the restaurant so good. Otherwise a good experience and recommended for chicken lovers!
Oyakodon ¥1,000) was delicious and the Hinaijidori tasted great and healthy. kiritanpo nabe ¥2,357) for 1 pax was too expensive! Service was great, English menu is available.
Walkable from most hotels located around Akita station. The restaurant is very spacious and the staff are very attentive. The price and portions are a good combination. The oyakodon was very filling and chicken was juicy.
