Didn’t think to check the bag because I was told the roti was in there. Never coming back if this is the type of restaurant you’re running. I... read more I ordered two doubles and I was served in less than two minutes. Two minutes is also an exaggeration. I kinda suspected it to be pre made and I wasn’t wrong. I drove with the packed doubles for only 15 min and when I opened it they were stuck to the wrapping paper like it was sitting for long and the bread was soggy and turned white at the bottom. Disappointed for sure! I didn’t mind waiting! But please don’t serve leftovers from a day before. It is unfair for the consumer. I have had doubles from other places and drove the same distance but never had this situation before

I can't believe I just discovered this hidden gem a few months ago. The atmosphere at Lena's Roti is fantastic. On our first visit, my friend and I had an absolutely delightful experience. Lena, with her warm personality, made our first outing unforgettable. I highly recommend Lena's to everyone!

When I tried to pick it up, it fell apart in my hand and ended up at the bottom of the bag. The doubles were just as bad—really unappetizing. I ended up throwing it away and have no intention of returning.

When I got to the counter and told the staff my name, he checked my order before I paid, and it was still wrong! When I pointed out the mistake, he got upset, and it seemed like they had to make my actual order from scratch because I ended up waiting quite a while. Eventually, he came out with my food in one bag, which was supposed to contain ten doubles and three chicken rotis. Once I got to my car, I thought I’d double-check the doubles, and to my surprise, there were only eight! So, I went back inside to inform him about the missing items. He rolled his eyes and quickly retrieved the other two doubles without any questions. It's frustrating to overspend $74.00 on an order and not get what you paid for. This place is usually my favorite spot for Trinidadian food, but the service I received from that staff member was absolutely awful!

I got the dark chicken dhalpuri roti, it was huge and very cost effective. I would recommend the small size if you’re not super hungry. The roti was juicy and had a great texture. The medium spice is not spicy at all tho, which was very surprising for a trini restaurant… I think they should turn up the spice OR get ur roti spicy if u want a kick (but I doubt it’d be seriously spicy still). They sell pepper sauce and it’s quite nice. I would return!

I’ve tried both chicken and shrimp and they’re fabulous. I would absolutely recommend this place with the small suggestion for you to order ahead, if you can. Wait times can be a bit long.

There’s also a plastic partition at the ordering counter that extends across the space. One wall is adorned with long paintings, while the opposite wall displays framed photos. My daughter ordered the boneless chicken stew with rice. She found it tasty but not particularly memorable, comparing it to takeout options available in New York. My husband opted for the goat doubles, which I didn’t want to try because I’m not a fan of gamey flavors. However, he didn't get to eat it until two weeks later due to our busy schedule. We were all quite tired from a long day of traveling, so we weren't particularly hungry at the time. He mentioned that he wished he had enjoyed it that day, but said it tasted quite good after reheating. He found the meat flavorful and not overly gamey, although he was unsure about the filling, noting it was a welcome change from the usual potatoes. He would definitely order it again. As for my meal, I had the duck roti. The duck was acceptable, but I wasn't a fan of the roti itself, as it was topped with a lot of crushed split peas, which kept falling off as I tried to eat it. Additionally, on such a chilly night, there were surprisingly many flies buzzing around, which was quite annoying. Perhaps it was just my fatigue, but I didn’t find the experience to be enjoyable. That said, I’m glad we had the opportunity to try it.
