This restaurant is in an isolated spot adjacent to the Isle Sanguines Park, just a bus ride out of Ajaccio. We thought there would be nothing there but this place was excellent. The food was good with rather large portions at reasonable prices, and good service. What a...pleasant suprise. View all feedback.
What Maurice Charles doesn't like about Restaurant I Sanguinari:
We arrived famished, after a boat trip around the Sanguinaire islands. Wanted a substantial snack and drinks. First contact with the waiter when we arrived was ‘ no sit there’ in the shaded, mostly empty restaurant) ‘ must sit there’ blazing sun stone terrace,...no shelter). Nice waffles eaten , lovely beer drunk. Think they need to spot their customers a bit better. Disappointed with the service. View all feedback.
Visited for dinner beginning of August with the family. The view on the "les sanguinaires" when sun falls is just astonishing. As regards the brasserie, we liked the friendly and professional service, big thanks to Barto! The bream fresh from the bay was a real treat. However we were surprised not to see any starter on the menu except some salad. Altogether very satisfied and I would recommend trying out this restaurant.
Having arrived on the ferry we felt it warranted a trip out to the Parata Tower for the view of Isles Sanguinaire. Herself did not relish the walk so I left her at the Information office and set off for the approx. 1.5k walk. To find the restaurant was a very pleasant surprise in such a stunning location and on returning to find her I convinced her to take the free shuttle bus to the restaurant. It was a great pleasure to sit on the terrace in the cooling breeze and enjoy the Plat du Jour, a cold drink and very good coffee. Very, very good value.
It's located right at the end of the land and before the walks to view the Sanguinaires. The road was blocked off for normal traffic, so parking and walking about 1km(?) was needed. The restaurant can't be seen until the last few metres and I don't recall any signs. Anyway, don't miss it! The view from the terrace is fantastic, but we ate inside because the terrace was a bit busy with children eating ice cream. The service was very good, menu had a fairly simple but wide choice. It was well worth the stop, but we had eaten so much we couldn't manage the scenic walks. From the outside it looks like a 'tourist trap', but it was far better than that. Only concern would be that it was quite busy in April, so it may be very crowded in the high season - the parking area is huge and would take a lot of tour buses.

After I walked along the coast, my friend and I came on this restaurant at the end of the stretch. what a wonderful and surprising greeting was it. we took our seats on the balcony, from the sea, and ordered the burger and...mussels very nice eating for very nice prices and very friendly waiting staff. it was a nice end to a beautiful stay in Corsica before they drive to ajaccio to catch our ferry.
