What Mathéo Kaya doesn't like about Le Terminus:
My wife & I came in from the rain to this attractive looking restaurant hoping for a late breakfast. We were disappointed and we're not the kind of people who are easily disappointed. The food took a long time which was ok cause we weren't In a rush & got an apology Orange juice on the house but, when our meal arrived I was stunned, pancakes were burnt and the food must've been under a heat lamp for a long time as th... Food and decent prices. Nice location. waitor did the dishes in English and helped us choose a meal. The negative? shortly after placing orders, the waitress looked at the server and laughed at the word "ANGLAIS" by referring to the server with a narquois smile. the word simply means English/English. I had the impression that it was a bit condescending and not in the context of "Let's go back to the red carpet because the king and the queen of angleterre arrived." I once again heard the word Anglic (pronounced inglese) shortly after the waitress asked us if we wanted desserts to which we told her that we were rehearsed enough and that we could be first coworkers. I still didn't understand if I was tried because she thought I was cheap by not eating dessert or because I'm an Englishman and I don't know how to eat properly (dessert at each meal) as a French! Staff should 1. receive a language tutorial and learn that English are not the only ones to speak English (United States, Australia, canada) 2. while sherlock holmes was a fictional detective, real customers can understand their not so secret mockery!
I took a good pizza on the covered and closed terrace for lunch. Service wasn't fast, but okay. the selection of menus was not great, but the hamburger that a neighbor looked delicious. the cheque request remained unanswered for a long time, for me and others too, so finally I went to the bar inside to settle the bill. the location is at the end of the raft course, so they receive a lot of day tourism business and so probably not anticipate many customers back. However, the food was good and at a price that was just at the upper limit of correct.
Having a bad first experience in Provence in another coffee (see separate criticism) at lunch time, after having pleasantly strolled in the different markets, we chose the terminus. We were warmly welcomed and quickly led to our table for 5 people, which meant that the helpful servers gathered two tables. a reasonable choice of menu with day dishes (day plates). between us we ordered the terminus burger x 2, a quiche with goat cheese and figs and a pizza with goat cheese. the drinks were delivered quickly being well refrigerated with lots of ice. Really appreciated. a day so hot (35c). a bottle of tap water was provided. before, we ordered with olives and bread included. The food was fast enough. excellent servings of freshly prepared dishes, all served with a local salad, a jacketed potato with fresh cream and chives. good coffee rate that we all enjoyed a lot and we found a good value for money at about 20 € each, including drinks and local tax. warm and friendly waiters whose English was correct and better than my French, so between us everything was fine. 4 out of 5 of us had an excellent sweet burning cream, a delicious lemon pie and a great gaumont coffee that was a coffee of your choice served with 4 mini candy that my daughter loved. good coffee and we all felt cool. well prepared, fresh and tasteful food. It is not a la carte restaurant, but it seems that some regular residents also eat here, so for an excellent coffee experience at lunch time in Aix-en-Provence, our family has definitely voted.
My husband and I went to the terminus during the happy hour for a few drinks. We also ordered from the happy hour menu and we spent a good time. our server was fluent in English, courteous and helpful.
I never went to a place, nowhere in the world, where I had such a bad experience. I was very ashamed because I was with friends of the beretil and they really felt humiliated by the lack of courtesy of the young boys who work there. We didn't even get the chance to have a place. But, I think it wouldn't be really worthy. If I were you, I would really avoid going.
