Before rice bowls became a “thing” in restaurants, rice bowls were already a thing. In many parts of the world where people made rice and curries and ate them, they usually put them in a bowl, poured some curry and added other tasty savoury stuff on top and ate to glory – reason being both it was delicious and it was convenient. (Yes, even in America, where rice bowls are currently a 'thing '! <br/ For the last one year I have observed “Rice Bowls” or “Buddha Bowls” becoming a “thing” in aapnu Amdavad as well. And why not! Who does not love eating some comforting soul food. <br/ Of course we all have grown up vouching and eating Cottage Cheese Shalmargo and Hum Pum Paneer at the cozy joint of Birmies at Panjrapole. Now, after opening their second branch at Sindhu Bhavan Road, the owners of Birmies have mapped out a new scrumptious menu that includes a huge variety of #RiceBowls and Wraps. <br/ <br/ I sampled the below mentioned ‘Rice Bowls’: <br/ Tabbouleh Falafel Bowl (Tabbouleh Salad, Falafel Balls, Beet Root Fetta,<br/ Hummus, Harissa Sauce, Tahini, Pomegranate <br/ <br/ Mexican Burrito Bowl (Cilantro Rice, Cottage Cheese Chilaque, Grill Corn,<br/ Stuffed Pepper, Parsley Sour Cream, Guacamole, Salsa <br/ <br/ Turkish Bulgur Pilaf Bowl (Bulgur Pilaf, Chickpeas Salad, Stuffed Aubergine,<br/ Olives, Tzatziki Sauce <br/ <br/ Indian Rice Bowl (Paneer Tikka with Makhni Gravy, Yellow Rice,<br/ Bhuna Chickpeas and Soya Chunks, Garlic Naan, Onion Rings <br/ <br/ I found the earthy flavour and fudgy texture of the aubergine to be a perfect vehicle for the Tzatziki Sauce in the Turkish Bowl. Not many like eggplants, but if you love to experiment, this is the one for you to try. Priced at 249 each, the Rice Bowls are enough to fill a hungry tummy the healthy way.<br/ Point to Note: <br/ (1 Birmies is a vegetarian joint. <br/ (2 The joint is open to serve vegan modifications of their dishes, if requested in advance. <br/ <br/ <br/
