Haarmuhle - Ahaus

This is a great place to use as a base for a day walking in the local woods. We go here oftenwith visitors if we want to spend a bit of time outdoors. Nothing extreme, but nice walking, meeting the highlander oxen that roam sort of free in neighbouring nature reserve. After the walk, have a sit down outside (weather allowing) or inside and enjoy good quality, reasonable priced local meals with a beer or softdrink. This place is well worth including in your schedule. Note however, it is VERY popular in weekends, especially when the weather is good. This does affect the speed of service (But not of the quality of the food they send out, as far as I can tell). Take your time, relax and enjoy the huger chestnut trees under which the main outdoor seeting area is located.

We had a company dinner here for some 30 people. Very good food and large selection of beer. Service was good and swift. They handled the group very well and didn't mix up the orders. Food was well prepared and tasty.

We have been here on uncountable occasions and it has never dissapointed us. We love the good German food, weather you eat outside under the big trees or inside with the roaring fire. They are open all day for all kinds of meals.Sundays they service a big Sunday brunch with everything you can imagen, including a warm meal and dessert. Best part is, your table stays reserved, which makes it possible to go for a walk in the lovely surroundings between the meals.

This restaurant benefits hughly from its location. Everything is adapted to provide a rural experience to visitors. Food is simple but adequate

This restaurant is very beautiful situated in the middle of a great nature area. You can make a lot of walks. We had a simple lunch with coffee (a bit weak) and fresh gread with cheese, ham and paté which tasted real nice.Personel is friendly (german and dutch).
