We arrived today in Tavira and life was fairly quiet not unexpected after all it was a Sunday and just around 12. We sat down and had a couple of beers no issues whatsoever. The place got busier and we thought may as well stay for lunch. This is where the problems started. Service became painfully slow. Really nice place, with very tasty food and very quick service. We went there with disable family members one on wheelchair and staff member very quickly moved tables so he could accommodate us including everyone. Our son with Down syndrome got his drink and food as first as we requested. Beers and Sangria was delivered before we had finished to place our order. Squid, tuna and cod fish amazing taste. Special thanks for persons who deliver the service for us today 10/10/2022. You have to go and check this restaurant.
Authentic Portuguese Restaurant.Good food and a friendly welcome. I went a few times ,they also have a good tapas menu. Its opposite where the boat from the beach moors so well placed for a drink after a beach day !
We arrived today in Tavira and life was fairly quiet not unexpected after all it was a Sunday and just around 12. We sat down and had a couple of beers no issues whatsoever. The place got busier and we thought may as well stay for lunch. This is where the problems started. Service became painfully slow. We ordered prawns in garlic and to be fair our expectations were probably off piste. Eventually they arrive 6 giant prawns with some garlic chopped over them. They also forgot to bring the bread but didn’t forget to charge for it. The final straw was when when my good lady asked were the toilets where and the answer from the waiter was “kaput”. Not he best 40 euros ever spent so let’s hope things improve over the week.
We came here for lunch one Sunday. Many places were already closed as it was 2:30pm so we ended up finding this gem on the riverside. They serve typical Portuguese food, very big portions, are reasonably priced, and are open constantly for food. We ordered a fish soup as a starter to share and the portion was enormous! We then had jabali as the main and sepia and bean stew along with Sangria to drink. All very tasty and came to around 35EUR including bread, butter and sardine paste. The reviews seem to be from old management as they mentioned they are new here, so don´t be put off the older reviews and try it out. The staff is very friendly!
Four of us lunched here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were helpful and the food good. One of us had pig cheeks, another baby cuttlefish and the ladies had a selection of Tapas, including anchovies, smoked salmon, batatas bravas and a soup. great location down on the riverside. The only quibble was that the house wine was a tad expensive.
