What I wish I had known before booking: The location is really unique. You are greeted warmly and then you are in a relatively classic Greek room, as I know it from before. The bathroom is spacious, everything is clean (the two nice and careful cleaning ladies came with fresh laundry halfway through our 5 day stay . No kettle in the room, but George was kind enough to lend my husband a kettle, cup and spoon from the kitchen so he could make his tea. The sliding door to the balcony has mosquito protection and is tight (important because the weather was sometimes unpleasant . The room door, however, is “classically” thin and has no handle on the outside. That's why we had the pleasure of being woken up several times later in the evening by the doors slamming shut because the other guests didn't bother to close the doors quietly with the key. The ladies from the yoga class had cheerful conversations late on. We noticed this well thanks to the noisy walls. The same thing happened when they got ready for silent meditation early in the morning. The tiny refrigerator occasionally sounded as if it was trying to overcome the earth's gravity. My nights were therefore short. The double bed should be 160 cm wide that was true. From the external dimensions. The mattress was 140 (yes, we have a measuring tape in the car for other purposes ; and a length of 190. My husband is 190 that's not enough for the two of us. Luckily we booked a triple room so I had to move to the other bed, which luckily was softer than the really hard French bed. If you book the room for three people, you should know that it will be tight for two of them. The double beds are probably all so small. The small toilet window in our building opens onto the hallway to the other rooms. If it's open, it's... not very private. The large room had no other window besides the balcony door. It doesn't matter when the weather is nice, you're outside anyway. If it's cold and windy, you lie on the bed in a dark room and can't see out. There is no table, just a small chest of drawers and two small chairs that are more suitable for putting your bag down than for sitting. At the same time of year, for just 5 euros more, we had a modern apartment 10 minutes further up with large windows, a kitchen, comfortable seating, a table for playing tavli... Next time we'd rather walk further to the sea.
A beautiful place! Great food, very nice and hospitable people. Cool groove by the great guests and yogis.
