Dined here several times after work but before shopping on Thursday nights. Always busy and sometimes hard to get a seat in the restaurant itself, but is normally seating in the shared area of the new "hipster" part of Marion. Have tried the Nasi Goreng and the Rendang in my last two visits. Meals take some time but there's always wifi thanks to Marion so can get distracted by social media until the meals arrive.Neve... Warong is selling its seafood/combination laksa soup, which, given the name, should be either a combination of seafood, or seafood plus other related ingredients, as a plain chicken laksa (much cheaper to prepare) with just a tiny part of seafood. We showed the guy at the register and clearly told him that we had ordered seafood, and he and another attendant kept insisting that because it said "combination" it was allowed to be, well, 90% plain chicken soup. As you can see from the picture, NEARLY NO SEAFOOD, and the staff wouldn't want to change the dish or admit there was a mistake. VERY DISAPPOINTED as they're obviously trying to take people for a ride. We're definitely not going back there.
It is a great cultural addition to the food court at Rundle Place. I always love my Malaysian food, know them very well, and hence I am usually very fussy when it comes to Malaysian dishes. I had tried several dishes from this place over time. I am always very tempted to get my lunch from this place but there is no dish that is good for my standard, so whenever I chose to get something from there, I would order a new dish that I haven't tried just in case I could be pleasantly surprised, but they failed to impress me. For instance, I could not find the tom yum taste in their tom yum vermicelli dish, their mee goreng's noodle was over tender, and fried keoy tiew was not done the traditional way. Nasi lemak and laksa were average. The only safe dish that will never fail me so far is Hainan Chicken Rice, but as this is a plain dish, I did not order this very often. Today I ordered this 'safe' dish after walking pass this stall for several months. The two main key elements were total failure: the rice turned out soggy and the breast fillet was plain dry (which it was usually very juicy, tender and mildly flavorsome). That's it! I am not going back there anymore. For dishes that cannot be done right, they are considered expensive as I had to eat them just because I was hungry. The reason why I gave three stars are for their friendly and polite customer service.

Portions are on the larger size, so be aware of this if you've had a big lunch earlier in the day. Food is also on-budget so no issues with the price either, and the cuisine is authentic Indonesian. If you're at Marion and hungry, skip the usual food-court fare and head down here!
For a quick lunch meal we both opted for mixed plates and had no complaints for the price. I wasn’t expecting 5 star food, but I got exactly what I expected and was charged for and it tasted good. What more could you want for a quick meal in the city?
Despite it being Friday with a lunchtime crowd, the service was quick and friendly. We ordered Char Kway Teow, a typical Singapore/Malaysian street food dish of flat rice noodles stir fried with caramelly, dark soy sauce and sliced fish cakes, prawns, chicken, bean sprouts. The serving size was good and it tasted authentic, though not the best.
