What User doesn't like about The Deli:
My partner and I were staying at a nearby hotel and were looking for somewhere to eat and figured we'd stop by the small cafe on the corner as it looked quaint. We walked inside to have a look at the selection of food in the serving window and a man behind the counter very abruptly told us "Sit down and we'll get to you". I replied that I was merely looking at what they had available and was again told, even more rud... View all feedback.
This is a nice little café about 50 metres from the Crown Plaza hotel, with about 7 tables inside and a greater number outside. We used it for breakfast, for which they have a good choice. Service is friendly and efficient, and the food was well cooked and tasty. As an example of breakfast prices, poached eggs on toast are $10, eggs on toast with sausage is $13 while their ‘big breakfast’ is $18. Coffee is $4 or $5 (cup or mug). However, although we thought it a good place for breakfast, we were staying at the Crown Plaza and at check-in they offered us vouchers at $20 for their breakfast buffet - a wide ranging ‘all-you-can-eat and drink selection, complete with an egg station . We declined in order to breakfast in a more down to earth atmosphere of a local cafe, but for those staying at the hotel it must be better value to have the hotel breakfast if you want a sizeable breakfast rather than just a light bite. (I don’t know whether this is a permanent offer or whether the hotel is trialling offering vouchers in order not to lose the breakfast business to the Deli.)Rating this place as a breakfast café poses a dilemma. It was good, but similar to many other cafes we went to on a tour of Australia that also provided a good breakfast. As TA don’t provide a good rating, and I didn’t think it sufficiently above any other cafes or breakfasts to say it was very good I have rated it as average on the basis that this means good but typical rather than anything negative.
Title says it all. They're refreshingly inviting and egar to please. Whilst waiting (5 minutes) for my lunch I was offered a glass of water and continually updated on the "progress". The staff were so friendly my colleague also got lunch there and we'll be having breakfast there tomorrow!
We walked around for somewhere to eat on the March public holiday (Monday) and came across this little spot. Extremely busy, but pretty fast service. The lady who served us asked if we were in a rush and then when we asked how long it might be she simply replied, "About ten minutes." (Meanwhile thinking she was going to tell us three quarters of an hour or something !!!) We had our drinks (freshly squeezed OJ and short black) within five, and meals shortly following (eggs benedict and banana bread).Meals were good value and tasty and all up we dined for no longer than twenty five minutes, so great service. Staff did seem very rushed and a little stressed, so gather they had been very busy given not many other options in the area, but they were still friendly and efficient.

We were quite happy with our food from here. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was decent quality and served quickly, and it was an overall pleasant experience. Not the cheapest place, but certainly not ripping you off either.
