What User doesn't like about Roberta’s Italian Winter Diner:
Lovely food, but much busier than the first time we went and as a result the food wasn't quite as perfect eg gnocchi were nicely browned (fried or grilled? first time, but not the second time. The sauce was still fabulous though. The croquettes didn't seem to have much fish in them this time. The service was good in the circumstances as they were flat out, but stayed charming all evening! $28 for dry calamari and lettuce was a big let down. Crab pasta and kids pasta was really yummy, and day time price was suitable. Staff had no knowledge of what they were serving. Calamari really let the meal down.
It was quiet yet we waited over 10 minutes at the counter to be served! A lady I front of me asked for a table for one and staff seemed confused. After this some staff were having side conversations and complaining about other patrons at the counter while I waited. After we sat down and read the limited lunch menu we left and had lunch elsewhere in the area!
There was an issue with my booking, although I had received confirmations there was no record of my booking at the door
Superb food service So spoilt for choice as everything on the menu is fabulous
Fun location by the jetty at Glenelg friendly atmosphere and surprisingly good food for a pop up restaurant. Service quite slow even during quiet periods. Shame plastic cups for drinks rather than glass.
