I have been having lunch here occasionally for years, always the same owner. The quality of food is always good, the service is friendly. They have a special lunch menu which is cheap, the food quantity is also more than adequate. View all feedback.
What Omula Briedis doesn't like about Korea Jung:
Walked in on a chilly spring evening and was greeted warmly by the staff. We were seated and serviced promptly, beginning with the house-pancake (free We had the first two jigaes on the menu; the kimchi pork soup and the pork potato soup. These came with rice and side plates of pickled veggies. The flavours were good, but we found the portions to be quite small- only few chunks of pork and tofu in the jigaes. I think... Foods that can require a lot of work. korea young is one of those places where I believe that they must have eaten big food before all these other Korean restaurants began both in and out of town. it is saddening me that the quality of their food is not on scratch, but the owners seem reluctant to make changes, and are easy to walk with how the dings are. the banchan (beside dishes) is also served very little as they can see, and the sweetness in my boggi rice dish was hardly cooked by. Nevertheless, I hope that they put more love and care into their kitchen, because I would like to see this restaurant.
Tried this place for dinner with my partner. Food: We ordered the Korean fried chicken, Kimchi pancake and Seafood stew. The Korean fried chicken was sweet and crispy. Unfortunately for it felt like we weren't given enough. The Kimchi pancake was the worst I have eaten. It was bland, unseasoned and soggy. The seafood stew was average. Service: Friendly, polite service staff. Food was out in minutes. Ambience: Quiet and comfortable restaurant. Tips: Go for the fried chicken and order the larger size.
Apart from the decor, darkish sitting area and sometimes lost in translation chats, this place lives up to an authentic Korean eatery. Staff a friendly and food is delicious. Only downside is the small portions.
Hands down the best korean restaurant. If your not familiar with Korean, than come here with someone who is because you will enjoy your visit more The owner is so lovely here and i come here on a regular basis The pancake is free and sometimes they will give my dumplings instead On special occasions (new year or harvest) they will serve me a traditional korean dish for that day I am half korean but i know they value their repeat customers and use fresh ingredients and not MSG, i should know considering i cook it and know how th owner cooks it.
