recently renovated and reopened around april. the decor is clean and functional when flat. none of the previous stands is replaced by two new stands, an Indian stall and a Thai mix Chinese stands. the prices have risen, with the Indian average $14 and the Thai average $12, but the quality of the food has also risen. the Indian stall has a large menu, had the butter huh with naan and it is complex and rich beautifully... What Franco D'Amore doesn't like about Hawker's Corner:
on the first look you could pamper yourself for decisions. we have tried a few restaurants here and I have to say that most foods were below average. the restaurant itself is not very comfortable. Service average best ... certainly not what I expected View all feedback.
THAI: Tried the basil chicken at the Thai stall after a favourable experience with the dish a few weeks ago where it was very good. This time, however, chicken was so tough and dry, I can only assume it was either overcooked or reheated. I asked for hot after adding chili when I enjoyed it as medium the last time i are there - but it was so hot I barely managed half of it and I add chili to must meals. Shame because staff are really pleasant, but I won't be eating there again. AWFUL!!
Enjoyed a quick visit here for a meal. I had mild chicken masala and the wife had beef korma. Each with firm but not overcooked rice and garlic naan bread. Service was fast and friendly, and served in indian style metal dishes that added a nice touch. Staff were friendly
So we ate at the Indian cuisine last night - suffice to say my husband and I have food poisoning this morning. Wouldn't go near the place ever again. Luckily my children ate the Chinese cuisine. They're not sick - but the food certainly wasn't good.
Has definitely gone hill. A few years ago was really nice but now it is bad, very unclean and the food has way to much msg in it. Also the guy in the kebab shop was perving on my friends and I, not a pleasant environment to be in
Have been coming here for years and it amazes every time. May look a bit dodgy from the outside but don't let that fool you! Great authentic Northern
