On the coldest and wettest night we were met at the car by a lovely gentleman carrying an umbrella to show us the way through to the entrance of the gardens. We walked in to the warm and beautiful restaurant and were welcomed by the friendly staff. As you would expect, the service was first class, but not in any way stuffy. Everyone was very relaxed whilst being so very attentive and informative. Chris looked after us for most of the night, he made us feel really comfortable and was great to chat to. Caroline was fun and super attentive. Food and beverage service was super smooth and perfectly executed, seamless.The food was amazing, right from the first snack to the final dessert course. Flavours that were unique, fresh and bloody delicious, served in the most beautiful hand made plates and bowls. The presentation of the food was so very unique and considered, it added to the whole experience. Every course was unique and cooked to perfection. My partner had the Sommelier’s wine pairing whilst I went with the non-alcoholic pairing (absolutely delicious and paired wonderfully). Our sommelier knew her stuff and was so friendly and personable. We left feeling completely full and very happy with our night. Cannot wait to return, it is worth every cent! Restaurant Botanic is unlike anywhere I've ever eaten before. It's seriously long and expensive, but worth it. Excellent hospitality and an amazing 20-odd course menu. Great wine pairings (we did the Botanic) as well. A cohesive and very tasty journey through Australian cuisine! The... read more As good a lunch as we 've ever had (and we do like a good lunch). Lovely setting, both inside and the view. Impeccable service. And the food was wonderful. The word that comes to mind for me is 'thoughtful '. A lot of places that put together a list of ingredients in what I think of as modern Australian cuisine clearly use dice to arrange them. They line up thirty or forty of them and the dice then decides which ones will be the starter, the mains, the dessert. Whereas head chef Paul Baker and his team have looked at the ingredients and decided what will work...and what won 't. Nothing jarred, everything was in its place. We had a tough time making our choices and are already looking ahead to our next visit to try some of the others. Congratulations to the restaurant, no doubt a well-deserved hat, though why stop at the one?
