Best customer service in Addis. A beautiful restaurant with lots of detail of traditional culture. There is mostly meat dishes here with a vegetarian selection. Kocho is served here which I had never seen before. You will enjoy the ambiance and coffee ceremony. Lots of traditional antiques for decor. View all feedback.
What LBrick7 doesn't like about Totot:
The show is good. I recommend you watch it JUST DO NOT EAT. We got a gastrointestinal infection (Norovirus) at this place. Totally sure as we ate at the hotel opposite all time with no issues. View all feedback.
A bottle of Ambo costs 15 Eth Birr excluding VAT. Guess what the shark is in Totot will charge 59.29 Eth Birr excluding VAT. They have one of the worst services I have ever had in the entire Addis Abeba in particular and in the world in general. Be careful of the sharks of Totot in Addis Abeba stay away at all if possible
I went by three times during my stay. I liked the authenticity of this cultural restaurant. This is a place to get local food and experience the thrill of Ethiopian culture and dance. Ethiopians are very proud of their culture and it is displayed here with such pride. At some point, the dancers go into the audience to pick people to dance with them. I got picked the last time I was there and we had a dance off : That was fun. The restaurant is in a safe and central area, so it easy to get transportation. It is totally worth checking out.
Their Portion is very small specially if you order Tibs. It is very unfair considering the price. It is terrible.
The food is ok, they over cook some of thier dishes as well as spice them up a tad too much to the point where you can't taste the meat . There was a great performance in dance and song. The coffee ceremony has a strong scent which can be overpowering if you're unfamiliar with the tradition. The restaurant is spacious and safe, its located next to a popular hotel Nexus.
I had read about this venue on the internet. It is a large restaurant with a nice décor. When we entered there was music and native dancing. This was a very good free show. I had lamb meat with onion garlic Barbers, salt, Butter and spice. [comes on fire]. This came to 197 barr. I also had “Tez” which is an alcoholic honey drink. [15 barr] The décor and atmosphere are good. The service was good. The food was good – and cheap. The only problem here is that they do not accept credit cards. I would certainly go back.
