We had homemade cake and hot chocolate next to the stove and enjoyed the view before a walk around the ancient oak woodland. Though they weren't open for evening meals the lady there was kind enough to make us up some delicious venison casserole with veg and tatties to take home for our dinner which we thoroughly enjoyed with a bottle of beer from the chiller cabinet.
