Was eobert at Athens a mag?
This place is decent. The hot tub was out of order, but my room was clean and I found a complimentary order of cheese sticks left by a previous guest that housekeeping hadn’t removed. I didn’t use the bar or the restaurant, but the woman at the front desk was very friendly. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would definitely stay here again when I’m in Fort Wayne. What Jeanne Z dislikes about Athens:
As a Platinum Member I always stay at Holiday Inn properties. And this property has been my usual “go to” hotel for my frequent visits to the area. The most recent stay was my last. My room was never serviced during my 3 day stay. There was no longer a microwave in the room. Nor was there a desk or adequate lighting to work on my laptop. Initially, we were informed that only our Friday night booking was canceled and that we could still check in on Saturday afternoon. However, when I called to confirm our Saturday reservation, I was told that we no longer had any rooms for the entire weekend in a city where every hotel was sold out. After some back-and-forth, they reluctantly found us rooms for Saturday night, which made for a frustrating experience of splitting our stay between two hotels. This was particularly challenging for tired athletes who just wanted to shower and rest after their games. To top it all off, the hotel room itself was mediocre, with old furniture and dirty sheets. Thanks for nothing. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Holiday Inn Express on Diebold instead; you'll receive excellent customer service and enjoy a much nicer hotel.

There were no microwaves in the rooms, which seemed to be a consequence of the overpriced restaurant downstairs. There were no breakfast options available unless it happened to be a holiday weekend, which was quite disappointing. The only microwave was in the lobby, which we ended up using. We took the kids to the pool on Friday evening, but the hot tub I was looking forward to was completely blocked off. A sign indicated the pool was open until 11 PM, yet at 10 PM, a police officer on staff asked us to leave because they needed to shock the pool. I was confused—why close it at 10 PM? Unlike any other hotel I've stayed at, this one charged the full amount at check-in instead of at check-out. Are they worried about guests skipping out on the bill? I specifically inquired about their billing practices and was told they charge at check-out. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because it was conveniently located for our needs and was reasonably clean. Overall, I was not impressed with this hotel.

First, the hotel is super clean. Everyone is very helpful. I had made a reservation and somehow it was cancelled through a third-party, but MS. SHELLEY RANDOLPH came to my rescue. She truly made things happen for me and my child. There was a large sports tournament going on in and around the area and everything that was at least decent was booked. Ms. Shelley is wonderful!

Breakfast was buffet only with mediocre food however the biscuits gravy were excellent. And the restaurant bar are closed on Sunday, so you will need to find another place to grab a bite. The only bright spot was Kathy, the bartender, who has been there for years. I will be staying elsewhere on my next trip in a couple months.
