Lago Verde - Abetone

We stopped by to fish and have lunch after reading reviews here on Tripadvisor. I was a little nervous as there was no phone number or information about hours. We found it easily at the address listed here and they were very accommodating. We came with our dog too and they were happy to have her. First we fished. It is a tiny little, stocked pond. They give you a pole, bucket, towel and wooden mallet. Everything is very organized. As soon as we threw in the line a fish bit! Immediately! Then a second time too! We paid 11,00€ a kilo and they held the fish for us while we had lunch. It is not fishing for a serious fisherman or woman. It is a fun little stocked pond where I imagine small children or tourists can catch a fish without skill or tools and still have a wonderful time! So alter your expectations for this type or experience and you will not be disappointed. Then we had lunch which was wonderful! A simple menu with choice of 3 pasta dishes, 3 crostini and a dessert! Our food was traditional, abundant and very good! The service was quick and kind. The place is like a little mountain retreat with lawn chairs scattered around and tables all over. For a quick, calm and quiet afternoon it was perfect! We would highly recommend it!
