The delightful homemade cakes and fresh coffee are standout highlights. With reasonable prices and a charming ambiance, it’s an ideal spot for everyone, including those with dietary restrictions. I stopped at this restaurant for a delicious coffee before cycling up Cairn O Mount, and then treated myself to a tasty cullen skink once I came back down. The staff, service, food, and atmosphere were all fantastic. Despite not having a reservation, I was seated at a large table with other travelers. It turned out to be a great experience as I was able to meet and chat with some lovely people. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I went for an early lunch, which was a smart decision as it got busier later on. The Cullen skink lived up to its reputation and was a reasonable size, allowing room for a sandwich or dessert. The chicken salad special was substantial and didn't require an additional course to feel satisfied. The coffee was also quite enjoyable. The service was prompt and the staff were friendly, so overall it was a positive experience. The restaurant has limited hours, but that's understandable in today's circumstances.
We ordered takeout and the restaurant was bustling but still very organized. The staff gave us a warm welcome and the food was freshly cooked. The homemade baked goods were fantastic and the coffee was piping hot.
This restaurant is a stunning spot to enjoy lunch. I can't wait to come back again.
Situated near the village arch and roundabout, this cozy cafe bistro offers a delightful selection of tea and coffee, along with a menu featuring snacks and meals from breakfast to delicious soups, jacket potatoes, and classic fish and chips. The jacket potatoes are a personal favorite, but the pop-up evening fish and chips takeaway is also a hit. The friendly staff make each visit special, although it's best to check the limited opening times beforehand (I believe it's 10am-3pm). Don't forget to visit the charming little shop next door after enjoying your coffee.
