What MiaMoray doesn't like about Scott Skinner's:
Our review certainly differs from previous reviews, may be because place filled up soon after we arrived! Staff were pleasant, but not overly friendly. Chicken curry was basically chicken in a sauce…..certainly not tasting like a curry should; the chicken in the Chicken Maryland was over cooked, and together with the chips, banana and pineapple it was all fried, accompanying salad was limp and overly tasted of onions... We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday with a party of 25 people at this restaurant. The food was excellent and the service from the waitstaff was exceptional. We will definitely be returning soon.
Our experience with Scott Skinners has come to an end. My family and I have been loyal patrons for years, but after encountering the shocking attitude of the host, a woman with blond hair, we have decided to find a new place for our family meals. Despite our long-standing support, she showed no loyalty to customers and failed to apologize for mistakes or serving cold food. It is clear that she lacks customer relations skills, empathy, and basic manners. It is unfortunate, but it is time for us to move on and find a new restaurant. It is evident that she is not suited to work in a public-facing role.
My husband and I were excited to try this restaurant, as it was recommended by the hotel where we were staying. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, but I did have a few issues. When I brought them to the attention of the owner, a woman with blonde hair, she did not handle it very professionally. However, she did end up giving us a discount on our bill. In hindsight, we probably wouldn't return to this restaurant because of this interaction. I do want to mention that the waitresses were wonderful and we had no complaints about them.
Out for an evening meal with our friend from Denmark. An excellent meal, hot tasty , served by staff who were efficient and polite!
Visited here whilst on a short visit to Banchory. We had a look around in the afternoon and decided to eat there in the evening. I 'm glad we called to book for a table as it was reasonably busy with very few empty tables. The restaurant is to the back of the building through the nice looking bar. We were quickly shown to our table and orders taken. They had a guest ale on which was very nice. Black Sheep Breweries Proper Job . I had the black pudding fritters to start followed by the chicken curry. My wife had the macaroni followed by banoffee tart. Good portions, well cooked and tasty. Good solid pub food. All staff very friendly.
