I absolutely love this restaurant! Whenever I visit my daughter in Newcastle, I always make sure to stop by and order a box of curries and rice. The staff is incredibly friendly, and I've never had a bad meal—until today. I feel like a regular, even though I live five hours away. I can't wait for my next curry takeout in April! What Ethan Walker doesn't like about Culter Curry House:
I discovered hair in my curry, and it had an unpleasant odor reminiscent of Raj's house. A man named Robert Taylor approached me and insisted on an arm wrestling match—what a cheeky fellow! I even took a photo of him just in case. To top it all off, there was a sausage in my vegan chicken curry. View all feedback.
I stopped by for a portion of doner meat and chips, but honestly, I should have left the moment I saw the state of the place. Calling it ramshackle and unclean would be generous. The person serving and preparing the takeout looked like he hadn't changed his shirt in over a week! The chips were undercooked and topped with greasy, flavorless doner meat. It cost £10.50, and I’d estimate we only got about £3 worth of decent food; the doner wasn't freshly sliced and much of it was dried out from being overcooked. Most of it ended up in the bin, which is probably where it belonged anyway. I would recommend avoiding this place. Rating: Food - 1, Service - 3, Atmosphere - 1.

I felt completely ripped off after my visit. The prices are outrageous for what you actually receive. The quality of the vegetable curry was disappointing, as it consisted of frozen diced vegetables mixed with a curry sauce. The vegetarian options were terrible, and the prices were even worse. As for the service, this was a takeout meal for dinner. I would say the price per person was between £10 and £20.
