Reviews - Underside Pub Eatery
Reviews summary
Hidden beneath the Altland House, this family-run brewpub delights with warm hospitality, live music and a cozy pub vibe, plus a modest but well-crafted beer selection and tasty house chips. Several dishes impress and prices can be affordable, especially for casual dinners or overnight guests. However, experiences vary: portions and preparation are inconsistent, some plates arrive late or underwhelming, and a few small plates feel overpriced. Great for music and drinks, but manage expectations for food and timing.

I always have a great experience when I visit this restaurant because of the delicious food. They also feature live music on Friday and Saturday evenings, which adds to the atmosphere. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner. View all feedback.
What Alicia K dislikes about Underside Pub Eatery:
We were disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. The indifferent attitude of the servers, who wore dreadlocks and had multiple piercings, was off-putting. In addition to that, the food was uninspiring, and the coconut flavor in the stout was quite strange. Given the prices, we anticipated more creativity and better quality. View all feedback.

We visited for the first time tonight and can't recommend it highly enough. We rented a room at the Altland House above the bar, and it was beautiful. We then enjoyed a delicious dinner at the brewery, where the tuna nachos, Mediterranean bowl, and prime rib were all fantastic. The live music was also a highlight; a young duo called Blank Page was amazing and really enhanced the atmosphere. We will definitely return to hear them play again and enjoy another wonderful dinner. Thank you for the warm hospitality!
We stopped by on our way home to enjoy a beer and a snack. The beer selection was surprisingly diverse for a smaller brewery, and everyone in our group found something they liked. The staff was outstanding—everyone was incredibly friendly, which really enhanced our experience. The bartender was quick and personable, expertly managing both the bar patrons and the drink orders for the rest of the restaurant. We only ordered appetizers, but they were excellent. We will definitely be returning in the near future.
Stopped in for burgers because the Rocks was closed and we were hungry. Their special was the Smash burger on briosh bun, So the 3 of us all ordered a variation of the burger. Well when it came out, the burger looked like it was all but 3 ounces if that. The bun looked like a regular burger bun that was buttered and grilled. But wait it took nearly 25 minutes for it to come out. That is unacceptable. Our waiter/bartender must of apologized 3 or 4 time saying your food is coming. It will be a long time till we go back
We patronize when our favorite band plays here. They've recently redecorated and it's quite nice. The service has usually been very pleasant and overall quick. The atmosphere is nice for an evening out and some good music.

The food was amazing, the staff were welcoming, and the service was outstanding. I sampled the 1763 Lager, and it was truly delicious! I will definitely be returning.
I was quite disappointed during my visit. I ordered the harvest salad, which was featured as a special, but it came with wilted lettuce that had brown edges, making it far from appetizing. On a positive note, the waitress was very friendly and offered to bring me something else, but I wasn't really in the mood to try anything different. This was my first experience with mediocre food at this restaurant, so I’m hoping it was just an off night. Food: 2, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 4.
