I love this place! The portions are huge, the price is extremely low and everything is homemade. Fries and hash browns are made fresh daily. If you want quality, quantity and value, this is the place to go! Not big on décor, or any of the superficial stuff, just a good, honest meal! I travel from South Surrey by bus to eat here with my friend who lives in Langley! View all feedback.
What Bartolomeu Constantin doesn't like about Aldergrove Cafe:
This little restaurant got good reviews for breakfast, so we thought we would try it. The thing that makes their breakfast huge is the amount hashbrowns/fried mash potatoes. They aren't really hashbrowns which was disappointing. The bathrooms are dirty and the kitchen didn't look much better. We won't be going back. View all feedback.
June is the perfect host and you won't leave hungry. The amount of food you get for your dollar is amazing. Breakfast for lunch is Awesome! The only time I was disappointed was with the peace soup which I thought could have been cooked a...More
One morning I was driving around Aldergrove looking for a spot that was not a) TimHortons, b) a gas station or c) a corner store and found the Aldergrove Cafe tucked around a corner from the Safeway Grocery. Now it is the restaurant that I go to first when I'm in the area just good old-timey favorite breakfast and lunch dishes. Working man's style, not a trendy chain. Not really big on decor but tasty, big satisfying portions, not greasy and everything homemade. Husband and wife team run this cafe and are friendly, also have a large regular following. I always really enjoy going to a little place and hearing local people wander in and talk to each other from across the room, 'Hey Bill, how did you make out with that trailer the other day?' and so on. These little independent cafes are fast disappearing, you should try this one at least once to see what locals are talking about. I'm sure you will be back for more, like me. *I had originally reviewed the Aldergrove Cafe back in August and I was curious about the person that was commenting about the washrooms, so I thought I would check them out. I've been in the womens washroom three times now and it was perfectly clean every time. The toilet paper roll was full and there is both paper towel and air dry for hands. I don't know what happened with the other person that day.
This place is good ol' home cooking at its best. June is one of the owners and she is the sweetest, generous, kindest lady around. My son always has a huge smile when we go to her restaurant and often asks "mummy can we go to June's for breakfast." The portions are big, cost is low. The burgers are delicious homemade patties, my cousin went in everyday for an alderburger while he was visiting from Toronto. I love this place, I'd highly recommend if you haven't been, to get your butt in there. Only thing I wish was different was that they were open 7 days a week instead of 6 and open later. But it's a mom and pop place so they need a break too
