Lentil As Anything, Abbotsford

Lentil was always high on my list for catering. I love their food and I love what they do, but my only real experience with them had been from their Abbotsford location which is a bit more casual and buffet style and sometimes reminds me of a college mess hall. Trusting them with our wedding took a small leap of faith but it was the best leap of faith we could have taken. We were placed in the very capable hands of Ken and chef PK. Ken was such a delight to chat with on the phone we practically invited him to the wedding as a guest. We can be some pretty particular diners and our catering requests were many. Our menu had to cater for several different tastes, and types of people while still being entirely vegan, and gluten free. As a diabetic I also had some other requests to help me manage the glycemic index of the meal and they were so accommodating. They sent us a sample menu to look over with multiple options for each category. And then once I made my selections they were able to make minor adjustments as the day approached based on seasonality of ingredients. I should also mention that they were able to do all this for a budget that was small by wedding standards. On the day of the wedding they did get a bit lost getting to the venue (it was in a super remote place). But once there they got straight to work and dinner arrived right on time, and was constantly well looked after by their staff so that it was always hot and fresh and full. And it was DELICIOUS!!! All of our non-vegan extended family had to be reminded that what they were eating was vegan because they were too busy loading up their plates with seconds. Also, even though everything we discussed ended up at the wedding there was so much more. Extra little dishes, condiments, additions, and surprises made the presentation look so much richer and more special than anything I had ever seen at their restaurants. Make no mistake, if you need to cater an absolutely gourmet feast, Lentil is more than up to the task. I could not recommend them more highly!

It's a place where atmosphere and tasty food come together and create a gastronomic symphony of epic proportions. Go down any day or night and a group of red clad volunteers will try their hardest to provide grand service and a fantastic meal. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants good food great atmosphere.

The food here is absolutely AMAZING! Please do this place justice by paying fairly if you can. They are doing incredible things, and it’s a shame to see people skipping out or shortchanging after enjoying such a delicious meal. <3

This is the best place on Earth! The food is incredible, the people are genuinely kind, and the atmosphere is like a paradise. It's a wonderful community that feels like family. I really miss the time I spent there!

Sri Lankan night has become my new favorite experience! The main dishes were all absolutely amazing. As a cake lover, I can confidently say that tonight's dessert was the best cake I've ever tasted. The two young gentlemen who attended to us were incredibly polite and charming. It was also wonderful to have Paola come over to introduce herself and have a chat. Although the convent is not in my part of town, I always look forward to visiting whenever I can! Lots of love!
