FOF Rotary Hotpot - Abbotsford

Awesome place for a beginner “hotpoter”, yes I made that word up. If you haven’t been Hot Potting before this is a good place to start, common ingredients and easy to manage.I liked the fact that we weren’t bothered, we just did our own thing and just relaxed. Great place for a few friends to gather. Why I say few, thats because you may get caught sitting apart from each other and end up having to scream at each other from both sides of the conveyor belt. All in all though, a warm experience. Food was quite good but we prefer our homemade hotpot to be quite honest P.S the ice cream at the end was amaze! although it may be just some bulk buy ice creams.

We went to this hot pot to give it a go and having been to other hot pot restaurants, I had a certain level of expectation. On arrival, you are seated at the train and choose your soup base. The restaurant isn't very spacious and once your soup base heats up it can get quite hot inside. The items on the train were ok - and if you want chicken, pork etc, you can order it and they will bring it to your table. There was also a self service seafood bar and some other hot snacks. Dessert was ice-cream - chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Overall, this was an ok hot pot, we will probably just stick to our local hot pot though.

I went here with my family and upon walking in, it looked like an op shop with a random kind of fit out. Sure, the idea was a good one with the ingredient conveyor belt and the individual hotpot cooktops, but the food itself was not that great (possibly because you have to make the meal yourself). Overall, an average experience.

The hot pot is fun and great like all of themThe customer service was rubbish, we walked in asking for a seat and this girl looked at us like we were asking to sit on her face, i mean your the first person that we saw when we walked through the door sitting behind the register, was I asking something wrong ??There's a lot of hot pot places around now a days and they are all quite similar so if you haven't got customer service you haven't got anything First and last time I went thanks to her

This is one of those places where you get a pot of soup to yourself and you get to cook your own dinner in it. We were part of a group and most of us got to sit around the outside (which means a bowl all to yourself). I chose the Tom Yum and my wife chose the Spicy (and it definitely lived up to it).All the ingredients come around on a little train and all looked pretty fresh. The beef was thinly sliced and only needed seconds in the soup, the quail eggs were delish and after 5 minutes were perfect (runny yolks and solid white). Everything I tried (and I tried most things) was both fresh and tasty. I accidentally grabbed a pair of testicles instead of hearts and even they were good. Veggies (tick!), tofu (tick!), noodles (tick!)And for a fairly reasonable price (and only $2 each to bring our own wine).
