While some found the food to be lacking in flavor and presentation, others raved about exceptional dishes, cocktails, and knowledgeable service. Despite some disappointments, there were standout items like the olives, oysters, and elk tartare. The atmosphere was praised for feeling welcoming and not too formal. Additionally, the restaurant accommodated dietary restrictions well. Overall, while there were mixed reviews, Alta Bistro may be worth a visit for its unique dishes and friendly service in Whistler's dining scene.

The staff and Sous Chef were very informed about catering to celiacs and other food allergies, ensuring a safe meal. However, be sure to confirm with the kitchen, as I heard that this chef will be opening an all-vegan establishment and leaving the current restaurant.
The restaurant does not have a dedicated gluten-free kitchen. However, the staff is very knowledgeable about celiac disease and the importance of cross-contamination. The server advised me on what I could choose from the menu. Professional and multilingual service. The food was good.
