The atmosphere was pleasant and the owner can speak a bit of Bahasa. Indonesian tourists are encouraged to visit this restaurant.
The service was terrible. Our waiter raised his voice and threatened to involve the police in a disagreement over the bill, even though we had already agreed to pay. He also spoke to us rudely in Japanese, and when we explained that we didn't understand, he accused us of lying (even though one person in our group was half Japanese American). He then insisted that since we were in Japan, we should speak Japanese and continued to yell at us. It was an awful experience.
The restaurant has a pleasant and clean ambiance with plenty of large tables and some couch seating, making it a nice escape from the summer heat after visiting shrines. It's suitable for groups and families, but it can get a bit noisy and open, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a date. The menu is fairly standard, but they offer a budget-friendly all-you-can-drink option during the day with nothing too special in terms of beverage choices. I would give it three stars if not for the delicious waffles (or maybe pancakes, I can't remember exactly) at the end – they were fantastic.
