Can't go wrong with deep-fried everything. It was delicious. I was happy with the variety as a one-time visitor, the sauce is self-serve now (no need to worry about the double-dipping rule or contamination) and it's easy to place multiple rounds of orders from your phone. Delicious as always! It is not secret food, but it is fast and delicious! Camembert cheese... bff !
Never liked deep fried stuff but this was pretty good! Love the fresh cabbage they give as a condiment to scoop out sauce. Or for those who wanna wash down the flavor of the fried food. Had warm sake here too for 380 Yen. Yummyyy. Queue was about 5-10 min not too bad either!
Ive included images of the menu for reference. I just went to a 5-star place in Kyoto last night with the same cuisine so it’s hard to compare... kushikatsu is basically bread crumbed skewers, similar to tempura but with breadcrumbs not batter. This place is a cheap eat, not a bad thing if you’re passing by. Inside there’s further seating upstairs so if you think it’s packed downstairs and have to wait in the line outside, don’t fret there’s more seating to it so the line could move quicker than you expect. You can choose from a handful of combo set kushikatsu meals or pick your own. If you pick your own, they’re all about 180 yen each. I can recommend the tonkatsu skewer (pork) and the asparagus. The scallop was very well done too. Get some salt and pepper on your plate to dip the skewers into, it’s a great flavor with the less intensive flavors such as the vegetables. Otherwise use the sauce on the table or the ‘gunpowder’ (red spice) for a bit of pep for the meat skewers and fish. It’s not very hot, only slightly spicier than pepper. A very affordable and tasty meal!
A bit crowded and queuing but satisfied with the food and service! Yummy!
